University of Manchester East Asia Centre – British and Canadian Chamber Membership 2025/26
The University of Manchester East Asia Centre has established a partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. This partnership is a privilege that the Centre wishes to extend to students and alumni, offering four complimentary memberships from each chamber. These memberships are designed to help enhance their networking opportunities across diverse communities, fostering connections that can benefit further their professional journeys.
Current students of East Asia Centre in the following programmes are eligible to submit self-nominations:
- Global MBA
- Global Executive MBA
- MSc Financial Management
- MA Educational Leadership in Practice
Eligibility and Nomination Process
- Active Participation: Applicant must demonstrate involvement in Centre activities, including but not limited to: volunteering at events, serving as student representative of alumni board, sharing during programme orientation, participating in interviews, or assisting with corporate connection.
- Duration of Eligibility: A student may be eligible for membership for two consecutive years, after which they cannot continue as a member.
- Select British/Canadian Chamber Preference: Please select your preferred membership option between the British Chamber and the Canadian Chamber under "I'd Like To Consult For". Kindly note that your selection may not be guaranteed based on availability or eligibility criteria.
- Deadline: Students wishing to nominate themselves must submit the nomination form by Friday, 16 May, 2025.
Selection and Notification
- The final selection of the EIGHT student members will be made by the East Asia Centre and University executive teams based on a full assessment. Students will be notified of their selection status via email by Monday, 26 May, 2025.
Additional Information
- Overseas students are encouraged to apply and may participate in Chamber events while in Hong Kong for workshops.
- Feedback on the membership experience is encouraged, and members will have access to sharing and networking opportunities.
- These terms may be amended as necessary, with notice provided to members.
