The Centre and alumni spent a meaningful morning on 24 May with over 30 elderly friends to celebrate the early Dragon Boat Festival in the Ho Man Tin area. During the event, we came together to do exercise, craft handmade gifts, and sing songs.
While many of our students and alumni are busy executives or professionals, taking a few hours out of a weekend for service allows us time to reflect on the true meaning of work, enabling us to gain so much in return. So, we are not the ones to be thanked; the elderly friends are!
The event concluded with us distributing large goodie bags that included rice dumplings and other daily necessities. Thank you @Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service and all of our alumni who participated. Stay tuned for the next volunteer opportunity later this year!
