A pilot session was held on 28 March in the Manchester University premises in East Asia Centre. Dr. Winter led a mixed group of students, alumni and executives through an intensely practical and pragmatic examination of aspects of successful management centring on people-interactions, communication and decision-making. Dr Winter’s material was rich in case studies and the whole experience was rated very highly in terms of audience feedback. The session offered a taster for the syllabus of Management in Practice – a new element in the university’s MBA programme. Indications from the feedback suggest that it might also be welcomed as part of executive training programmes.
