The 15th day of the 1st lunar month is the Chinese Lantern Festival and is the first night to see a full moon and so people call it Yuan Xiao Festival [元宵節]. In Chinese culture, it is also called the Chinese Valentine’s Day. This February, our alumni and students in Hong Kong got together for a BBQ party to celebrate this Yuan Xiao Festival under a bright full moon at one of our prominent alumnus’ house. Both the Centre and the Alumni Association worked really hard to make it such a joyful event: we had a decoration team, a food team and an entertainment team to meet the different requirements. At this time, our students, alumni and even exchange students with their families enjoyed some colorful lanterns, mouth-watering cuisine and a warm, supportive atmosphere. As the evening wore on, guests began to let their hair down - old friendships were rekindled, and new acquaintances quickly became fast friends. The night ended with few team games including limbo rock and the passing a balloon game. Prizes were distributed amongst happy winners.
