“Tonight is our first major international event, among lots of activity planned to celebrate our 200 years.” “I hope you have a great celebration with us this evening!” stated Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell during her speech last night.
The East Asia students and alumni community is honoured to host the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester on the night of 24 Jan 2024 to jointly celebrate the University's 200 years of excellent teaching, innovative thinking, and global impact. Nancy and her team may have brought along the cold weather from Manchester, but the dazzling Victoria Harbour skyline and the joyful faces of all the old and new friends who have come from near and far staged the event as a beautiful and warm success.
Thank you to all that participated in this memorable evening. Thank you Kate Cambden orchestrating the event with skill and grace. Also, a special thanks to Simon Hui, Hayley Tsui, for delivering the heartfelt speech, and last but not least to Mabel Law, Global MBA who put together the fantastic balloon decorations on the roof terrace and made our photos captivating.
We wish the University of Manchester many more years of knowledge, wisdom, academic freedom, courage, and pioneering spirit. The East Asia region will continue its long history of ties with the University of Manchester community around the world.
