With the aim of helping the new cohort break the ice, an induction activity was held at the start of the school year to great success. Dr. Jiyao Xun, Associate MBA Director, who acted as presenter, chaired the event, and her dynamic presence lifted the whole auditorium. Engaging the students in activities which ranged from group games to introductory sessions, she urged those present to make the most of their MBA, to plan their studies well, and above all to network with their peers and to make the most of their support. A highlight was definitely ‘Building the Tower’ – an introductory activity which saw 7 teams building a ‘tower’ out of newspaper in order to reach the ceiling. Embodying the spirit of teamwork and co-operation which marks true business success stories, the game was an apt symbol of the course itself – to provide a platform for executives to come together, in order to scale further heights.
