Alliance Manchester Business School climbs FT Global MBA Rankings to cement its position in the world elite

Alliance Manchester Business School has cemented its position as an elite provider of global business education in this year’s Financial Times (FT) Global MBA rankings, by rising eight places to 30th in the world.

The rise means Alliance Manchester Business School is one of Europe’s top 10 business schools, and is ranked as the 3rd best school in the UK.

The FT found that Class of 2013 MBA alumni enjoy a 108% salary increase three years after graduating, with average salaries at £101,860 ($128,436). The weighted salary figure, which adjusts for variations between different sectors, is up by almost £10,000 ($12,617) to £103,259 ($130,535).

Professor Fiona Devine, OBE, Head of Alliance Manchester Business School, said: “We are extremely proud of our MBAs and all they go on to achieve in careers across the globe. Our position in today’s ranking is testament to their hard work and the commitment of our teaching, careers and support teams who ensure Manchester MBA students and alumni are amongst the best in the world.

“As a research-led business school our MBAs benefit directly from the application of original thinking, alongside six months of live client projects. This combination gives our alumni the resilience and skills to take advantage of the opportunities presented by today’s ever-changing business landscape.”

Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2015, the Business School was the beneficiary of a landmark donation from Lord Alliance of Manchester and Trustees of the Alliance Family Foundation.

The donation has funded projects examining the economic impact of the devolution agenda, big data analytics, and the development of one of the world’s first business and human rights networks based in a business school.

Professor Devine continued: “We are an ambitious full-service business school committed to outstanding research and high quality education. The climb in the MBA rankings is a fitting start to what is set to be a pivotal year for the School. Work is progressing apace on the development of world-class facilities for our students and staff, a new Executive Education Centre for our clients and a hotel for our regional, national and international visitors. It is a very exciting time for Alliance Manchester Business School”.
