Best Universities for Business Degrees 2016 - 2017: Times Higher Education ranks The University of Manchester as 22nd in the world

The University of Manchester has been ranked 22nd in the world by The Times Higher Education (THE) world university rankings for business and economics.

The 2016-17 THE World University Rankings’ business and economics league table judges world-class universities across their core missions as well as looking at universities’ provision in specific fields, such as business and economics.

It also rates academic prestige and research excellence, as well as the teaching environment with an emphasis on the undergraduate experience.

Professor Fiona Devine, Head of Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), said: “The ranking represents a significant milestone as we achieve our aim of delivering the highest quality research and teaching, to inspire the business leaders of the future.”

“It is also reflects the unprecedented developments at AMBS made possible by the recent donation from Lord Alliance of Manchester, that marked the next chapter in his long-standing relationship with the University and School.”

The generous donation is driving the School’s research agenda forward by funding a portfolio of innovative new research projects through the School’s Strategic Investment Fund.

The donation is also being invested in the School’s new building to further enhance the learning experience for students and is part of a £84m investment to transform the School’s facilities.
