A Trade Wars Seminar was conducted in mid-January and Hong Kong Centre was honoured to invite Prof Ismail Ertürk from Alliance Manchester Business School and Christy Tan, MBA alumna and currently Head of Markets/Strategy Research, Asia, in the National Australia Bank to give us their expert perspectives on the Trade Wars and Globalisation: “How Can China Navigate New Risks in the Global Economy”. Over 50 participants enjoyed both the macro and micro views on the structural problems of the US and European economy and how China can respond; the concept of financialisation as a new method to analyse global and national risks for China and China’s growing role in world economy plus the need for new global economic and financial governance mechanisms were also discussed.
